Administrator and organization owner roles

Every organization in PMPeople has one Organization Owner. Initially, he is the user who creates the premium organization. This role can be transferred later. His main function is to renew premium subscriptions through PayPal or wire transfer.

Along with the organization name, logo and description, organization members can see Organization Owner’s name and email:

Organization Owner is the only one who can access the menu option Organization Settings:

In the ORGANIZATION tab, he can change the organization name, description, icon, and logo.

In the MEMBERS tab, he can find members and see what roles they are using for this organization.

In the ADMINISTRATION tab, he can find members and set their roles. In the “PMPeople” organization, users can set their first premium role by themselves. This is not possible for premium organizations, since these are payment roles. The Product Owner is the one to decide.

In a premium organization, when users try to use a premium role for the first time, or they try to use roles like PMO or FM, they are warned that an email request is to be sent to the Organization Owner.

In this screen, Organization Owner can set (or remove) any member’s roles, premium or free, according the organization needs:

Other useful administration features available here:

  • Click the button [Upload TMs] to sign up several users at once with the role Team Member from a csv file. This feature is applicable to users not registered in PMPeople: they are automatically signed up as members of this organization with the role Team Member. Users already registered can be invited to this organization and then assigned the role TM (or wait for them to use the role).
  • Click the button [Download Members] to download a csv file containing all members in the organization.
  • Click the button [Download Assignments] to download a csv file containing the Team Members in the organization.
  • Click the button [Remove ❌] to remove a user from this organization. The user will still be a member of other organizations, if any. At least he will belong to the free organization “PMPeople”.
  • Click the button [Reset Password 🗝️] to reset the password of any member. A popup window will ask the new password and if an email is sent notifying the change to the user.

The file to upload TMs must be a comma separated value file with extension .csv, including fields for first name, last name, email, country, and password:

The file to download organization members is downloaded as a comma separated value file with extension .csv, including fields for email, first name, last name, country, register status (1 = validated; 0 = not validated), fields to know if they are using or not any of the 11 roles, and lastly, the date of incorporation as organization member:

The file to download organization TMs is downloaded as a comma separated value file with extension .csv, including fields for email, first name, last name, email, assigned resource pool, and then the assigned work package data details: business unit, project name, project ID, and work package name. If a TM is assigned to several work packages, there will be several rows, one for each assignment: Cost rate, Sell Rate, Start, Finish, Work Hours, Baseline Start date, Baseline Finish date, Baseline Work, Actual Work, Actual Cost, Job Category.

In the BILLING tab, Organization Owner can perform the following functions:

  • Click the button [Add Seats] to add more premium users before the subscription renewal date.
  • Click the button [Reassign] to transfer the Organization Owner role to other organization member.
  • Click the button [Blockchain Balance] to set “Reliable Organization Seal”. A minimum amount is required (currently 50 USD) to pay for publishing status reports in Blockchain (currently 0.12 USD each status report).
