As a PM, I can load planning from microsoft project
Project Managers (PM) and other managers (PMA, PMO, PfM, PgM), can load planning data from an XML file compatible with Microsoft Project®—other scheduling tools export the same XML format, like Primavera, SmartSheet, ProjectLibre, etc.
If you use schedule tools for planning, you don’t need to re-enter work package data in PMPeople, just click the button [Rebaseline] at PLAN > Plan Scope/Schedule/Cost.

Click the “pencil” icon to find the XML file in your computer.
Click [Upload > Overwrite Baseline] to delete the old baseline and load the new data.
Choose [Upload > Add New Work Packages] to keep old baseline data and append the new loaded data.

Let’s see an example. Imagine we have this planning in Microsoft Project®. Baseline has been set and the file has been saved as XML.

[Rebaseline] button will follow this process:
-
Only the project summary task and the tasks with Priority=1 will be identified as work packages or milestones to be loaded. The rest of the tasks will be ignored.
-
For each work package, upload task name as work package name, task notes as work package description, baseline start/finish and baseline cost.
-
For each milestone, upload task name, task notes and task baseline date. Each milestone will be included in the previous loaded work package.
