As a PM, I can control work packages assignments

Project Managers (PM), and other managers (PMA, PMO, PfM, and PgM), can control work package assignments by navigating to CONTROL → Control Resources → Assignments or at CONTROL > Control Resources > Resources.

The Assignments and Resources page provides two tabs:

  • Team Members
  • Material Resources

Select the appropriate tab depending on the type of resource you want to review or update. Then select the resource and the associated work package to view its assignment details.

Team Member Assignments

Select the Team Members tab to review and control team member assignments.

First, select a Team Member, and then select the associated Work Package.

Project Managers (PM) can update the following fields:

  • Planned Start: Project manager’s best estimate for this team member to start working on this work package.
  • Planned Finish: Project manager’s best estimate for this team member to finish working on this work package.
  • Planned Work (h): Project manager’s best estimate for effort hours for this team member on this work package.

Team Members (TM) can see these fields when reviewing their assignments (see 2.1.2.6).
