As a PM, I can control project scope

Project managers, or any other management role (PMA, PMO, PfM, PgM), can control project scope at CONTROL > Control Scope, using the web application and the mobile application:

Project scope can be controlled at the project level (work package #0), and for every detailed work package, as of the selected status date, entering these data:

  • Qualitative traffic light on scope management.
  • Work percent completed: If there are detailed work packages, then work package #0 value is automatically calculated.
  • Short explanation by the project manager.
  • Baseline Work (h): Scheduled effort hours for this work package. This field can be updated at Plan > Scope.
  • Planned Work (h): Project manager’s best estimate of total effort hours planned for this work package.
  • Actual Work (h): Effort hours submitted by team members assigned to this work package and approved by project manager up to date.

The first three fields can be updated also at Health Check.

Deliverables for a given work package can also be controlled here:

  • Qualitative traffic light on deliverable management.
  • Work percent completed.
  • Short explanation by the project manager.

Requirements for a given work package can also be controlled here, the same way:

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can project managers control project scope in PMPeople?

Scope control is available under CONTROL > Control Scope in both the web and mobile apps. It allows project managers to assess scope progress and manage associated work packages.

What information is required to control project scope?

Project managers can enter scope traffic light status, percent completed, a short explanation, and update work hour estimates such as Baseline, Planned, and Actual Work.

Can deliverables and requirements be controlled here too?

Yes. Each work package allows monitoring deliverables and requirements with the same fields: traffic light, percent complete, and comments by the project manager.
